Hello and Goodbye to May!

May has been a very busy month for us, but I would like to back up to the end of April.  My babysitter was out of town for a week and Aunt Shelley volunteered to watch me for a few days so Mama took me to Atlanta.  It was the longest amount of time I have been away from my Mama and I had so much fun, but I missed my Mama.  We both survived and I had a great time playing with my cousins, Finley and Harper.  I loved going to their gymnastic classes and playing in their big yard!

I started swim lessons at the beginning of May with mixed feelings.  I wasn't really a fan for the first week or two, but I really love them now.  We are four weeks in with just two weeks left.  So far I have learned to hold on to the bar on the side of the pool, swim to the bar, hold my breath, and float on my back.

We have been enjoying the outdoors now that it is getting to feel like summer outside.  We have had a very beautiful spring and last weekend was perfect.  We were very active every day - either swimming, biking, running, or walking.  Cousins Jessica, Josh, and Zachary were in town and we got to meet up with them for dinner on Saturday.  We went to a Japanese Steakhouse and it was really neat, the fire scared me, but I really enjoyed the food. We took Melissa to the Zoo and loved watching all of the animals.  I loved petting the goats at the Petting Zoo and had my first corn dog for lunch, it was delicious.

Here are some photos taken since my last blog update:

April fun!

Welcome spring!  The weather is getting nice and we have been taking lots of walks.

My Mama celebrated her birthday on the 3rd and we spent the weekend celebrating in Atlanta. We stayed at Aunt Shelley and Uncle Matt's new house and I had so much fun.  I got to climb up and down stairs, play outside in the dirt, and go down their slide.  I loved playing with all of the doggies and Oliver had a whole lot of fun, too.  I am so excited my cousins live so close and can't wait to visit again!  Uncle Matt grilled out on Saturday and I got to play with my cousins Teddy, Leo, Finley, and Harper. Aunt Lisette made some delicious treats for Mama's birthday, too!

Mom, Grandpa Steve, and Aunt Shelley went to the Cubs game Saturday night and despite the Cubs losing the weather was perfect and they had a great time.  I got to hang with Uncle Shae - thanks for taking care of me!  And a BIG thank you to Grandpa Steve for coming down to visit and spending the weekend with us! Mama had a great birthday and wants to say thank you to all for making it a memorable one!

Happy Easter! Thanks Easter Bunny.

Greetings all.

I am going to make up for skipping the month of February by posting twice in March.  I am really getting the hang of this walking thing and have quit the bottle.  I wasn't too sure about the whole sippy cup dealio at first, but now I am kinda digging it.  I have been climbing quite a bit here at home as well.

We celebrated Easter by going to the Zoo for an Easter egg hunt yesterday.  It was so much fun to play with the eggs that I sat down and did just that during the hunt.  Other children were putting their eggs in their baskets, but I just wanted to play with mine.  We got to see lots of animals and had a great day!

So, we are pretty excited around the house these days - for a couple of reasons  1.  Spring and nicer weather - we hope it arrives sooner rather than later  2.  Opening season of baseball.

Happy Easter to each of you!  I hope you spent it with your families and just enjoyed the day!  We sure did.

Love, The Mav

Having fun in the little red wagon. Thanks to Elaine for letting us borrow it!

Bring on the nice weather!

Sorry we skipped the month of February, no excuse.  I turned one year old on the 22 of the month and we had a fantastic celebration at my house.  So many friends and family attended and we sure did have a great time.  Grandpa Steve made the long trip along with Aunt Shelley, Cousins Finley and Harper, Aunt Lisette, Uncle Shae, and Cousins Teddy and Leo.  I feel so loved!  Melissa took lots of pictures and I got to eat cake and ice cream for the first time!  Yummo.  I received so many wonderful gifts and can't wait to wear all of my new clothes!

I went to my one year old well baby checkup and weighed in at 24 pounds 3 ounces - the 75th percentile and am 32 1/2 inches long - the 95th percentile.  I had to get three shots and the MMR really stung, but I was a brave boy and Grandpa Steve was there so I felt safe!

I started walking a couple of days after my first birthday and have been practicing here and there.  My Mama has been teaching me all kinds of new words and I love to repeat what I hear.  She said she will have to really start to watching what she says, whatever that means!  Some words I have said are Oliver - this is my doggie's name, Elmo, love, blue, uh oh.  I love to climb on my new chair and continue to chase balls around the house.

Mama, Grandpa Steve, and I took a trip to Indianapolis to visit Darcy and Amber at the beginning of March.   We went to the Children's Museum there. It was a neat place and we had so much fun!  I got to ride on a carousel for the first time and I liked it!

We have been taking walks with the nicer weather and I love to be outdoors. We are so ready for spring and summer!  Enjoy the pictures below!

It's a New Year!

Happy New Year!

January has come and gone and it went by rather quickly.  We had a pretty busy month and the weather has been colder as of late.  Grandpa Steve met Mama and I in Metropolis at the beginning of the month to take a trip back to Iowa.  We stayed at Aunt Stephanie's house and I had so much fun playing with rmy cousins.  Grandma Susie took real good care of me while I was there, too!  We had so much fun. I also got to hang out with Grandma Dianne.

Mama got crafty this month.  She started laughing when she told me "I am officially a Mom - I have a fridge full of food and I am doing craft projects."

I am now eating all adult foods and holding my bottle all by myself! I am learning to start to take some steps with assisstance and Mama thinks it will be any day now that I am walking alone.  Stay tuned. Below are some pictures and videos of my month.

All that traveling can wear a guy out!  This was on our drive home from Iowa.

Having fun with my big Brother Oliver!

Mama's craft project.  She made Santa Claus ornaments out of my hand!  Pretty cool.

My silly face!

I was unaware this was taken, but I guess I like to sleep with my bottom up in the air and it is cute and picture worthy.
